Hi John,
Did you miss our recent webinar, Who is Behind Attacks on DEI? Don’t worry – there’s still time to catch up! Join us for an essential conversation on how the forces working against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives often overlap with far-right and anti-abortion actors. DEI efforts have far-reaching impacts – not only creating more inclusive workplaces, but also transforming educational and movement spaces to be welcoming for all. We all must continue to stand up for these necessary principles.

Check Out What’s Going on This Month:
We Know Abortion is Popular
We remain grounded in the fact that abortion is safe, essential, and backed by the majority of Americans. It’s a fundamental right that empowers people to live fully and freely. We remain relentless in our commitment to expanding access—for everyone, no matter what.
There is no reasonable abortion ban, and we'll keep showing up to defend that truth.
Self-Care
Self-care is an intentional practice that roots us in the present despite the oppression we may face. Regular self-care is essential for sustainable and effective activism.
Here are our self-care tips for November:
-
Bake Something! Baking helps me keep my spirits up (and my hands warm) as we start easing into shorter, colder days. It can be a great way to bring friends together or a way to connect with family over old family recipes. My current go-to is a plain loaf of white bread — it feels so simple but makes the house feel (and smell) so much cozier! – Kieran, Senior Strategic Research Director
-
Get to know yourself better. One of the best things I’ve ever done is buy one of those “A Question a Day” books where you answer the same question on the same day every
year for five years. I’m on my second book and it’s amazing to see how I’ve changed! When life gets hard, I love to look back on my responses and feel gratitude for all the people I have been. I also highly recommend guided journals like “Burn After Writing” for the same reason! – Annie, Senior Special Projects Coordinator
-
Pick up a new podcast! I’m a big time podcast girlie: if I’m walking my dog or doing the dishes or just about any other activity, I probably have one playing in the background. If you’re looking for recs, I recommend the new F*ck Marry Kill podcast from our friends at SisterSong. You can find it wherever you get your podcasts, I tuned in here. – Shireen Shakouri, Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff
See you next month!
