Dear John, We began the new year with assessment and reflection from our 70+ members grounded in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam. Since then, the COVID-19 pandemic ensued and we have all (membership and staff alike) found ourselves digging deep to be more strategic, intentional and loving with ourselves and communities. In so doing, we’ve found new and creative ways to
support frontline communities and our members right now through direct support, deep needs analysis/listening and supporting frontline thought leadership.
CJA Releases COVID Conversation between Frontline Leaders
In April, we began a series of conversations with CJA members to talk candidly about how the pandemic is affecting their communities, their needs and priorities. This podcast episode,
“Reclaiming Our Future: Community Resilience in the Face of COVID-19” brings together Tom BK Goldtooth (Indigenous Environmental Network), Alvina Wong (Asian Pacific Environmental Network), Doria Robinson (Urban Tilth), Joshua Dedmond (Co-op Jackson), Darryl Jordan, Piper Carter, and Aqelah Amani Amatullah Miyzaan (East Michigan Environmental Action Council) in conversation about how we are existing -- and building the future -- now.
