Minnesota Stormwater Seminar Series

Moving towards multi-functional stormwater management systems

Please join us in person or online on November 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. for the next Minnesota Stormwater Seminar Series event - a monthly experience featuring national, state, and local experts on stormwater and green infrastructure.

*Title*: Moving towards multi-functional stormwater management systems

*Speaker: *Lauren McPhillips, Assistant Professor co-appointed in the departments of Civil & Environmental Engineering and Agricultural & Biological Engineering at Penn State University

*Abstract: *Over the last several decades, stormwater management has evolved dramatically, with increasing interest in green or ecological stormwater infrastructure solutions. This keynote will discuss work examining inventories of stormwater control measures from cities across the US, seeking to understand some of the influences in the variability of preferred features, as well as in potential benefits. The presentation will also highlight work based in Lancaster, PA that seeks to document multiple ecosystem services provided by green stormwater infrastructure, given that functions beyond water quantity and quality management are increasingly of interest to communities.

*Date and Time*: Thursday, November 21, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. US CST

*In-person:* St. Anthony Falls Laboratory Auditorium (2 Third Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN [ [link removed] ])

*Online: *[link removed] [ [link removed] ] (active 10 minutes prior)
