Dear AFGE Activist,
There’s no question that last night’s outcome will have serious consequences for our union and all of our lives. However, one thing is clear: AFGE isn’t going anywhere.
We've faced challenges like this before, and we know what’s at stake. A second Trump administration will bring back attacks on our union, our rights, and our mission. Last time, we endured assaults on our ability to represent members, cuts to official time, attacks on our collective bargaining agreements, the dismantling of union contracts, and attempts to weaken us by forcing rank-and-file civil servants out of our union spaces. We fought through hiring and pay freezes, evictions, and attempts to disrupt federal agencies. And we came out stronger.
The time is now to prepare for an administration that will be hostile to our union and the labor movement at large. The time is now to band together in solidarity as one union, because it’s going to take each of us to protect our jobs, our rights and our union. We must stand together to ensure we come out on the other side a stronger AFGE.
We know what’s coming—and we’re ready. This time, we’ll be even more prepared. Together, with solidarity and resilience, we will withstand and overcome these attacks. Now is the time to take action, to fortify our strength, and to make our union unbreakable.
We stand united and undeterred. With each action you take, you fortify this union and protect the rights of every member. Together, we will not only face but overcome what’s ahead. We are AFGE Strong.
In Solidarity,
Everett B. Kelley
AFGE National President
