John, I know these aren’t all the results we wanted to be talking about.

We gave this election all we had. And I’m grateful to the thousands of you who stepped up to volunteer and donate to help drive voters to the polls.

Because of you, we defeated some of the worst of the NC GOP’s threats to our state: Democrats beat Mark Robinson, Michele Morrow, Hal Weatherman, and Dan Bishop. Now, we’re sending Josh Stein to the Governor's Mansion with champions on his side in our Council of State, and giving him some incredible fighters in the state legislature. In fact, NC Democrats ENDED the conservative supermajority in the House, protecting Stein’s veto power.

These aren’t consolations – they are decisive, critical victories that will anchor our work to hold onto the progressive wins we’ve already achieved.

That said, I want to speak to the North Carolinians who are reading these results and have feelings of disappointment, worry, or fear for our future. We aren’t going anywhere and we won’t stop fighting for a brighter future.

Not today, not tomorrow, never.

We’re going to get back on our feet and hit the ground running to keep organizing a movement that defeats this hate once and for all. Because I know if we continue to work together, we can and we will build a better North Carolina.

Always forward,
Nida
