Welcome to The Lighthouse ([link removed]) , the weekly email newsletter of the Independent Institute covering politics, economics, current events, and everything in between.
Dear Readers,
The American people cast their votes, and Trump won handily. Now, several issues stand ready to shape the nation's future—trade, energy, and constitutional rights chief among them. We take a look into what is at stake.
First, we examine Trump’s trade proposals (not so different from Harris’, as it turns out) and their long-term implications for the economy. We then note that promising advancements in nuclear technology suggest a potential shift towards more sustainable energy solutions. Finally, we turn our attention to Colorado’s Proposition 127, which, as of this writing, is too close to call … but it could have far-reaching consequences for hunting regulations in the state.
Elections have consequences, but regardless of the outcome, our mission remains ever the same: to boldly advance peaceful, prosperous, and free societies grounded in a commitment to human worth and dignity.
