Hey friend,
I want you to know that you are deeply loved and supported. Today is a difficult day, and we know you’re feeling sad, angry, and the multitude of emotions in between. But know this - we stand with you! And know that the results of this election do not define the value of our community or reflect the strength of our community. Another four years of a Trump administration is not what we envisioned, but we cannot let fear or frustration define us. It’s okay to feel, to grieve, and to process, but we must also rise above despair. We are resilient, and together, we will build the power to keep pushing for change we know we deserve. History is on our side, and this is one moment in our longer arc towards justice.
Yes! This moment is scary but resilience and resistance flow in our veins. We as immigrants have had to prepare for hard, extraordinary circumstances all our lives. We didn’t back down when Trump won for the first time in 2016, and we won’t back down now. Despite today’s loss, we know there are more of us who want to unite our home with compassion than those who want to divide us with hate. We will continue to fight for our vision of the future—where everyone is free to thrive and live unapologetically. Together, we are unstoppable, and we will rise again, stronger and more determined than ever.
Our community has always been a powerful force against the hatred and bigotry aimed at us and our loved ones. Time and time again, we’ve stood strong, supported one another, and fought back against those who seek to divide us. We’ve built a network of care, courage, resilience and POWER—and we’re ready to protect one another.
Alongside you, we will practice radical hope, be bold and courageous, will not be afraid to speak truth to power, and refuse to live in isolation.
