Dear John,

As the oldest Latino civil rights organization in the nation, LULAC stands firmly
committed to uplifting and empowering the Latino community across America—working
to strengthen economic and educational opportunities and to protect our civil
rights.

For nearly a century, LULAC has been here, side by side with the communities we
serve, tirelessly working toward a future that fulfills the dreams of our
families and honors the sacrifices of those who came before us. Now, as we look
to the horizon, we welcome the opportunity to work with President Donald J.
Trump, Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, all of last night’s elected officials,
and the incoming Administration. Together, we are called to build a future that
holds space for all our stories, our voices, and our dreams.

LULAC’s journey is not just about one community; it’s about an America where
everyone has a fair shot, where the doors of opportunity swing open for all. And
that includes immigrants—both U.S.-born and foreign-born—who contribute their
strength, culture, and hopes to this nation. Together, we represent a community
rooted in diversity and bound by a shared commitment to build a better tomorrow
for ourselves and our children.

As we approach our centennial, let’s recommit ourselves to what’s possible when
we unite. Let us turn away from division and embrace a vision where every Latino
family—where every immigrant striving for a piece of the American dream—feels
recognized, valued, and empowered in every corner of this country. Let us show
the strength, the resilience, and the heart that our community has brought to
America’s story.

We know the road will not always be easy, but together—with our allies, our
partners, and leaders from both sides of the aisle—LULAC will continue this
fight. Because when we stand together, Latinos have a powerful voice, a voice
that echoes through the fabric of our democracy.

Let us move forward with purpose, ready to write the next chapter in our shared
American story. And together, let’s show that the contributions of the Latino
community and all who come here to build a better life are not only respected but
celebrated.
