John,
Donald Trump will be returning to the White House in 2025.
That’s not a sentence any of us wanted to be reading this morning. It’s certainly not one we wanted to be writing. But it’s also not the end of the story.
We’ll have more news to share with you soon about some inspiring WFP victories last night that point the way to the kind of country we want to build together. But right now — whether you are feeling anger or sadness, whether you’re ready to jump right back into the fight or need some time to process things — know that all of those feelings are valid.
Take the time you need. Lean into the things and people that bring you joy and allow you to feel safe. And, when you’re ready, the Working Families Party will be here as your political home as we move forward into 2025 and beyond.
That starts tomorrow, when WFP members will join in community with members of 200+ other organizations for a post-election call to help make sense of what happened, lay out concrete actions we can take this week, and start to chart a path forward together.
RSVP to join us for “Making Meaning of the Moment: Post-Election Mass Call” on Thursday, November 7 at 8:00 pm ET // 5:00 pm PT.
It may not feel like it right now, but today is the beginning of the end for the Trump era and the MAGA movement.
Donald Trump has no solutions to address the needs of working-class people in this country. He never has.
And when he tries to implement his agenda of more tax cuts for billionaires, gutting health care, deporting millions, and supporting war crimes with public dollars, people will rise up.
The solution to Trump’s politics of division is a politics of solidarity.
We need to protect each other in the face of a right-wing authoritarian government. We need to join together to build the largest pro-democracy coalition in history and block Trump at every turn. But it’s also clear from last night’s results that we’ll only get to victory by building a multiracial coalition of working-class people.
No one can know exactly what the future holds. But if we’re going to build a movement that will fight for each other over the next four years, we will all need to do our part.
Please join us for our post-election mass call on Thursday, November 7 at 8:00 pm ET // 5:00 pm PT.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
