While this is not the outcome we had hoped for, we will not give up. For the sake of women, immigrants, the LGBTQ+ community, religious minorities, and working families in the United States and around the world, we will continue to fight back against oppression, bigotry, and hate.

I commend Vice President Harris for running a campaign unlike anything we’ve seen before. She is the first Black woman and Asian American to lead a major party ticket, raising over $1 billion since taking over in July and fighting like hell for what she stands for. We also thank President Biden and Vice President Harris for their commitment to a peaceful transfer of power.

This is not the end. Make no mistake: the next four years will be exhausting, depressing, and critical to the survival of our democracy. Young Democrats across the nation will continue organizing from the ground level and working towards a better future.

I encourage every young person upset with these results to use those feelings to help drive change. Every young person who hasn’t already should go to yda.org today to find out how to connect with their local Young Democrats chapter and help organize much-needed resistance against the incoming Trump Administration’s anti-American agenda.

Together, we will build a better, stronger, and more resilient Democratic Party—one prepared to meet the challenges ahead and to stand firm in defense of our shared values.

We are all in this together.
