Dear migrant health supporters and allies,
Today, we at Migrant Clinicians Network reaffirm why we are steadfast champions for health justice: because -- regardless of the political circumstances, in every part of the United States, and despite or because of election results -- migrants and immigrants need our help. They run into barrier after barrier after barrier, that strip their access to the culturally competent, quality, and compassionate health care they need, and block the pathways to living healthy, safe lives.
For 40 years, Migrant Clinicians Network has pushed for health justice, improving the health of migrants and immigrants by removing those barriers, and building practical solutions to the biggest issues in migrant and immigrant health – and we aren’t backing down.
Many people in the world of migrant health are concerned about future policy changes, anti-immigrant rhetoric, and more. In this momentous period, with much to unfold, among the many things we know for sure: we are steadfast in our support of your health and well-being, and the health and well-being of immigrants and migrants in your community. There are some things we can do right now, including taking care of ourselves and providing resources for patients to do the same. We have to be clear: when we care for ourselves, we are able to care for the communities we serve.
