John -
On this challenging day, one thing is clear: our commitment to protecting the Boundary Waters remains unwavering, and together, we are stronger than ever.

We’ve faced significant setbacks before, but we’ve also seen remarkable progress. We have successfully defended the Boundary Waters from threats at the highest level, and after years of dogged-persistence delivered historic triumphs, including:

- Copper mining lease cancellations in 2022, preventing a dangerous mining company from threatening this pristine wilderness.
- Historic protections for the Wilderness in 2023, ensuring 20-year safeguards against exploitation.
- A groundbreaking science program that led to the 2024 listing of Birch Lake—an important tributary flowing into the Boundary Waters—as impaired for sulfate. This vital designation makes it significantly harder for any mining company to establish toxic operations in this fragile region.

From dedicated advocacy to raising awareness, the resilience of those who love this Wilderness has never been more apparent. The future of the Boundary Waters is worth every effort, and in the coming months and years, we will continue to stand together to ensure that its pristine waters and wild landscapes are preserved for generations to come.

Our shared mission is not just about stopping threats—it’s about creating lasting, positive change. With every voice we raise, every action we take, we move closer to securing the protection this remarkable place deserves. We know that the journey ahead will require persistence and dedication, but the passion and unity we’ve built will propel us forward.

Together, we will continue to push for strong policies, advocate for meaningful solutions, and inspire more people to join this critical cause. The Boundary Waters’ beauty and significance are irreplaceable, and we will persist—fueled by the knowledge that our efforts will make a difference.

You can support vital work - for the next four years, and for as long as it takes, with a gift today. Every donation until November 20 will be tripled up to $100,000 .

Let’s move forward, together. Thank you for being a part of this movement. With your support, we are confident that we can protect the Boundary Waters for the next four years and beyond.
