Welcome to GATJ’s November newsletter. This past month, GATJ contributed to preparations for FfD4, co-organised a tax justice training for journalists, and welcomed new members to the Secretariat. Read along for more updates from our regional members.

October Highlights

CS FfD Mechanism Submission to the FfD4 Elements Paper

The Civil Society Finance for Development (CS FfD) Mechanism submitted official commentsĀ ahead of preparations for the UN’s Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) which will take place in Seville, Spain in 2025. As the co-coordinator of the Tax Justice Workstream of the CS FfD Mechanism, GATJ brought together recommendations on domestic public resources and the UN Tax Convention. Ā 

Tax Justice Training for Journalists

GATJ, RJFALC, Latindadd, and SiPreBA hosted a two-part course on tax fraud and illicit financial flows. The course discussed the effects of tax evasion in Latin America and the Caribbean and how to investigate it.

GATJ Updates

Welcome Maureen and Lison to the Secretariat!

Maureen Mburu joins GATJ as the Tax & Gender Lead and Africa Campaigns Coordinator. Maureen has a background in law, gender justice and women’s economic empowerment.Ā Maureen will be hosted by TJNA.


Lison Rehbinder joins GATJ’s Secretariat as the Global Campaigns and Policy Coordinator – Europe. Lison has extensive experience campaigning for tax justice in Europe. Lison will be hosted by TJ-E.
