The cost is too high to think about.
John,

COVID-19 has further exposed the cracks in our country. Every day, we’re seeing the harm that anti-science, anti-equality leaders can have when they are in office. With everything from access to affordable healthcare to voting rights to LGBTQ equality on the line in 2020, can you afford another four years of Donald Trump and those like him in office? We don’t think so. If you agree we need new leadership dedicated to protecting our rights, chip in right now.

As Trump attacks the LGBTQ community from the White House, bigots on the ground follow his cues. That’s why we’re seeing a rise in hate groups, over 200 anti-LGBTQ bills across the country and all kinds of “Mini-Trumps” popping up against our candidates.

In Pennsylvania, Spotlight candidate Jess Benham is running against a candidate that praised Trump on Facebook, bashed the Affordable Care Act and mocked diverse gender identities. In Nebraska, Spotlight candidate Marque Snow’s supporters are hearing homophobic slurs when they proudly display their yard signs. Kyle Meraz, our candidate for the Oklahoma House of Representatives, is running against an incumbent who believes “traditional marriage is foundational to a strong community.”

Donald Trump breathed new life into a section of our society that was just starting to fade away, and our candidates are the firewall that stops his hatred from spreading further. And make no mistake, if these candidates lose and Trump wins again, the homophobes will know their hateful messaging works. They will push Trump’s harmful agenda until it’s the law of the land. Until our community is shoved back into the closet.

Four years of Donald Trump, Mike Pence and their kind is more than enough. Let’s send them packing – and fill our government with LGBTQ leaders instead. Rush a donation today.

Thanks again for your support,

Mayor Annise Parker

LGBTQ Victory Fund has helped thousands of openly LGBTQ candidates win elections up and down the ballot, from sea to shining sea since our founding in 1991. We believe representation is power – so we elected U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin and Kyrsten Sinema, Governors Jared Polis and Kate Brown, all seven LGBTQ members of U.S. Congress and countless candidates for state and local government, including Virginia Delegate Danica Roem, Colorado state Representative Leslie Herod and Pennsylvania Assemblymember Brian Sims. And with an unprecedented number of LGBTQ people running for office in this year, we’ll need your support to make 2020 the next Rainbow Wave.
