John — the election outcome isn’t what we’d hoped for, to say the least, and we’re all feeling shock, grief, and fear and trying to process what it means.
I’m right there with you. But I’ll tell you this, as soon as I realized what was happening on election night, my first thought was, “Thank God we have JanePAC, and we must keep going.”
I deeply believe this is the best strategy for building an alternate base of power, a firewall against what’s coming.
I also want you to know: Our fight didn’t end when the election was called. JanePAC isn’t going anywhere. We’re ready to resist every attempt by Donald Trump and his cronies to undo the climate progress we’ve made, and we’ll reject any push to let fossil fuel interests dictate our future.
We’re going to hold the line and continue building the path forward for climate justice.
Despite today’s outcome, there’s a lot we accomplished in this election. Across the country, climate champions endorsed by JanePAC achieved critical wins in key down-ballot seats. Leaders like Ann Johnson Stewart in Minnesota and Rep. Justin J. Pearson in Tennessee have stepped up and won their seats. They, along with other climate champions who won last night in Texas, California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Arizona, New Mexico, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Illinois, are ready to protect our communities, enact clean energy solutions, and push back against powerful polluters. These victories remind us there is strength in our movement and real impact. Not just protest, but power.
I hope you’ll continue this fight with us because we need every voice, every action, and every ounce of resolve to keep moving forward.
We will be in touch about specific actions you can take with us in the days and weeks ahead, but for now — take care of yourself. We must all stay strong, rested, and unified.
With you in love & solidarity,
Jane Fonda
