| Friend, Many of us are grieving right now. Some are processing real, direct threats to our family and loved ones. You are not alone. You are a valued part of a community of passionate progressives who care about our state and country. Today, we grieve together. But in the coming months, we will regroup and fight for the country we all deserve, with courage. This election outcome is heartbreaking. This time, we know what a radical, vindictive MAGA government Donald Trump is capable of, and we know what it will take to fight back. Join Courage California in the fight of our lives to defend our communities, our rights, and our freedoms.
From stopping Trump’s Muslim ban to reversing his policy that put kids in cages to enshrining the right to abortion in nearly every state we’ve gotten it on the ballot, we’ve faced down MAGA before. And California will need to lead the way again. We are a sanctuary state and a progressive xxxxxx with the power of the fifth-largest economy in the world and an unparalleled depth of Democratic leaders and organizers. We know that we must be disciplined, strategic, creative, and united over the next four years to ensure our democracy survives intact. To counter extreme right-wing policies, we must leverage all our powers as Californians, including lifting up our powerful economy and ensuring that our state representatives pass legislation to protect our rights and progress. We need to build on the wins we did see in California this year – like overwhelmingly passing Prop 3 and protecting marriage for all. And we’ll need to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with those at the very center of the Trumpian bullseye: Black and brown communities, immigrants, and trans people.
