While we await the results of several close races here in Hawaii, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to every candidate who stepped forward to run. Your courage to serve is commendable, and I encourage each of you to consider running again. The people of Hawaii need to get to know you better, to understand the wonderful qualities and dedication you bring to public service. Now is a crucial time for all Americans to come together. Let us build on our commonalities while embracing our differences, for it is our diversity that makes America truly great.
