Hi Friend,
Our fourth Planners of Color Happy Hour is coming up on Wednesday, November 13, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Shanklin Hall in Adams Morgan, and we’d love to see you there. We created this space for Black and brown folks to foster a sense of community and joy in a field that has historically excluded us. Now, more than ever, I think we could all use a little camaraderie to process what lies ahead for ourselves, the region, and the country.
So, in the spirit of building community and of feeling grief and the joy that comes with connecting with others, I hope you'll join us next week. You do not need to be a planner to attend. We welcome advocates, community leaders, students, and anyone who is interested in connecting with other like-minded folks to advance a more inclusive Washington region.
I hope to see you there.

Also, don't forget that our discussion with Jerusalem Demsas is the day before on November 12 at People's Book in Takoma Park. In her new book, On the Housing Crisis: Land, Development, Democracy , Jerusalem Demsas, staff writer for the Atlantic, breaks down in plain language how the democratic process has been hijacked to throw up barriers to homebuilding.
