** Protect Birds from Window Collisions at Your Home

A recent Washington Post ([link removed]) article highlighted the danger to birds from window collisions. It also noted the toll that unprotected windows in low-rise residential buildings take on resident and migratory birds. Those low-rise structures have fewer windows than high-rises, but they outnumber them significantly, and 100 percent of their windows are at the height of trees and shrubs the birds use.
There are simple, affordable changes homeowners can make to stop the loss of bird life in our residential neighborhoods. They can install Acopian bird-savers ([link removed]) , either purchased or homemade, install decals or unobtrusive films on their windows, or take other steps.
