I’m sure you’ve already seen the news. Donald Trump has won the presidential election.

Like you I imagine, I’m feeling very frustrated and disappointed right now. But there’s one thing I’m not letting go of. Hope.

There are many important races still being decided in Arizona, and not all was lost last night.

In fact, Prop 139, the abortion ballot initiative, prevailed — codifying the right to an abortion in our state constitution.

Ruben Gallego is currently leading by a razor-thin margin, but the Senate race is still undecided. Alongside that, the path to electing a governing majority in Arizona’s state legislature is coming down to the wire with many races still too close to call.

That’s why we’re busy contacting voters to resolve signature issues before the ballot curing deadline on Sunday.

Every eligible ballot must be counted, as just a handful of votes could determine the winner in many ongoing races. Please, contribute today to help us make sure every vote is counted correctly: [[link removed]]

John, while the results didn’t go our way, this isn’t the first time we’ve faced an incoming Donald Trump presidency.

Right before his 2017 inauguration, women marched across our nation’s capital and sent a powerful message — one fueled by hope and determination.

Then in 2018, Democrats won many close elections across the country, shifting power away from MAGA Republicans. That’s when I was elected Arizona’s Secretary of State by a margin of less than 1%.

In 2020, Americans made their voices heard at the ballot box, and Donald Trump lost re-election. When he spread conspiracies and tried to undermine the will of the voters, we stood up to his Big Lie and as Arizona’s Secretary of State, I made sure every eligible vote was counted fairly across our state.

Now, we’re living in another historic moment. What we do now will shape our future, and I hope like in years past, we use our negative feelings to bring about positive change.

We’re the strongest we can be when we stick together.

More soon,

— Katie
