Tell Congress: Clean Up Toxic Chemicals At Military Bases
TAKE ACTION

Dear friend,
We need to take action to protect our nation’s military families.
For decades the military has allowed toxic PFAS chemicals to contaminate drinking water on military bases and in neighboring communities across the country. These chemicals have been linked to serious health risks like cancer and thyroid disease.
Military families make huge sacrifices for our country. Now it’s our turn to fight for them. Will you join EWG and Vietnam Veterans of America in asking Congress to take action to protect military families from PFAS contamination?

New data from the Department of Defense shows that more than 600 military sites and surrounding communities could be contaminated with PFAS chemicals. EWG analysis has revealed that military installations have some of the highest levels of PFAS detections in the country.
The military has known the risks of using PFAS in firefighting foam for years, but it’s been slow to switch to PFAS-free alternatives and clean up PFAS pollution. We need Congress to step in and require the military to take action to protect service members from PFAS.
EWG and Vietnam Veterans of America have joined forces to urge Congress to reduce ongoing PFAS uses, expand PFAS blood testing and clean up legacy pollution. Will you join us?
Take action to protect military members from toxic PFAS contamination! Urge Congress to clean up legacy PFAS pollution at military bases.
