Dear John,
Trump has won. Many in our community feared this day - worried about the return of the travel ban, attacks on our civil liberties and deepening militarism in the Middle East.
But we’ve been here before, and we must come together for our community and rights. We are ready to fight any reimposition of the Muslim ban and other grave threats to our community and loved ones' rights.
And, as Trump has positioned himself as an anti-war candidate who favors diplomacy - and even suggested he wants Iran to be prosperous - we will work to hold him accountable to those commitments to the American people.
This work begins now. In the coming weeks, Trump along with his new Vice President J.D. Vance will select the advisers who will shape his policies. As an organization, NIAC will be consulting closely with you and engaging in planning and coalition-building with an eye towards shaping policy post-January 20th.
To that end, I would like to invite you to join us virtually next Tuesday for our Post-Election Symposium [[link removed]] in which we will discuss the threats, opportunities, and path forward in the months and years to come. This event will feature distinguished experts, elected officials, and advocates. You can register for this important event and learn more about our speakers below.

Together, we will not stand down, disengage, or give up but redouble our efforts for peace and justice.
In solidarity,
Jamal Abdi
President, NIAC
