Hi John,

I'm devastated the country chose a fear-driven, morally bankrupt autocrat to lead it — a person who values nothing but power and himself.

Trump is a disaster for the natural world — the wildlife we love and the clean air and water we need.

I'd urgently hoped that we'd finally put Trump behind us. His hateful, cruel bigotry and misogyny should have been disqualifying.

I hope you take the time you need to come to terms with this result. It's understandable to be heartbroken. On so many levels and for so many issues we care about, Trump's election is profoundly dangerous.

We'd hoped we wouldn't have to fight him for another four years. But we're ready.

We have a plan, and the hard won experience, to stand toe to toe with Trump every single day.

The Center's been here before, and we held the line and won.

We sued the Trump administration 266 times.

When he took away federal protection from gray wolves, we went to court and got those federal protections restored.

We defeated his attempts to expand drilling, mining and livestock grazing across 51 million acres of greater sage grouse habitat in seven western states.

We stopped trophy hunting of Yellowstone's famed grizzly bears, restoring the bears' Endangered Species Act protection with a win in court.

And we defeated an illegal attempt to gut the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, which would have let polluters off the hook for killing birds.

Let's be upfront about what lies ahead. The second Trump administration will be even more cunning, ruthless, and laser-focused on dismantling our bedrock conservation laws than the first — and will push more species to the knife's edge of extinction.

Our fight in defense of wildlife and wild places — and the laws we depend on to secure their safety — starts now.

Join us with a matched gift to the Saving Life on Earth Fund so we can mobilize a powerful response..
