In the aftermath of the recent election results, we are with you in feeling the deep sense of devastation and hopelessness many of you are experiencing. The news of Trump winning in the 2024 presidential election has left countless individuals feeling frightened and uncertain about the future. We recognize that this outcome carries profound implications for our communities and for the fight for immigrant rights.

It is completely valid to feel overwhelmed, angry, and disheartened. The challenges ahead may seem insurmountable, and the shadows of past policies threaten to loom large over us once again. We want you to know that your feelings of fear and sadness are heard and understood. This is a moment of pain, and we stand with you as we navigate these difficult emotions together.

Despite the uncertainty, we want to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to serving the immigrant population of New Mexico. The FIGHT for dignity and human rights is far from over. Together, we will continue to advocate for policies that protect our communities and uplift every voice. We believe in the strength of our collective spirit and the power of our community to resist and persist.
