John, we now know that Donald Trump is going to be our next President.
We know that Black people, Indigenous people, immigrants, and poor and lower-class people—all of our most vulnerable communities—will be impacted hardest by the majority of Trump’s initiatives, as detailed throughout the campaign trail.
The majority of American voters chose this path, fully aware of Trump’s record, policies, racism, sexism, and anti-Blackness. It directly reflects where more than half of this country stands and what they are willing to accept and support.
At this moment, we must be realistic, strategic, and overwhelmingly prepared about what we are going up against. While we have lived under Trump's presidency before, we expect this time to be much worse for various reasons. In part, this is due to Trump’s eroding of our rights with no checks and balances.
While this feels like a major defeat and a setback with no sign of recovery, we must not give it that much power. This is certainly a loss, but not one that deems our fight over or our movement less powerful. We must keep hope alive.

Our movement for Black liberation will always continue no matter who is the President. We have never, and will never, bend to the will of political parties. Our objective is always true: Black liberation and eradicating white supremacy.
The fight for the abolition of the prison-industrial complex, economic power for Black people, defunding the police, reparations, ending qualified immunity, Black maternal health, and environmental justice continues, and we’re going to continue organizing harder than ever.
We also want to thank Vice President Harris. She is a Black woman who stepped up to save this democracy, despite the odds and people against her.
