We are deeply dismayed—but we are undeterred. We’re ready for this fight. We’ve been planning for this for more than a year. 

The hard truth is that Christian Nationalism has seized power in a way it could not on Jan. 6, 2021. We have a severe fight ahead and Americans United is ready. We were made for moments like this. Christian Nationalists will try to abuse their newfound power to privilege their chosen few at the expense of our most marginalized communities, which will be targeted. But we have a plan. 

This is not over. Americans United has endured for nearly 80 years and we're not giving up now. We’ve been preparing for this fight. We’ve been here before and survived. We will survive again. But a big reason we’re still here is your support. We cannot do this without you, and we need you to rush a donation to Americans United today. Last time, we sued the Trump administration 10 times. We won some of those lawsuits and worked with the Biden administration to defeat many remaining Trump policies. All of that work was instrumental in stemming the rising tide of Christian Nationalism. 

We know you’re afraid; for yourself, your family, and your friends. You’re afraid for your country. In the coming days, we'll be giving you ways to channel that fear, despair, and anger into action. We are building a movement that will be a xxxxxx against this rising tide of white Christian Nationalism. We need you, and everyone you know who feels like you do, to join us. But we need more than financial support. We need you to recommit to the separation of church and state and talk to your communities. We will organize and fight in your community, county, city, and state—everywhere—because we know the majority of Americans are with us. Church-state separation is the cure for white Christian Nationalism, and it’s also the foundation of our democracy.

We know from last time that President Trump will do all he can to undermine church-state separation, but Americans United is ready for this fight. We also know that we can defend the most basic principles our country is founded on, if we do it as Americans, United. We’ll be sending out more details on our plan this weekend—stay tuned.
