Hi friends,
I’m so honored to have earned the continued trust of my constituents and to be re-elected to Congress for a third term.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for your support throughout this entire campaign. This win is not about me – it’s about the people who have chosen facts, integrity, and compassion over rhetoric, extremism, and bigotry. And for that, I am endlessly grateful.
I first got into public service because I earnestly believed in the government’s ability and responsibility to help improve people’s lives. From my time with UNICEF and the United Nations, to Secretary Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, to working at the State Department and serving in Congress, I have seen firsthand the power of these organizations – and the people who are a part of them – to make a meaningful difference.
Heading into my third term, my mission remains the same: to restore faith and rebuild trust in our government — especially for those who don’t feel seen, heard, or included. I’ve said from the very beginning that I’ll work with anyone to deliver for my community, and that’s what I will keep doing — to implement big and bold solutions to the most stubborn problems we’re facing.
Throughout this campaign and my time in Congress, I’ve heard from so many San Diegans who are struggling to find and afford child care and housing. I’ve heard from parents who are worried about their kids’ ability to go to school safely, get a job, and grow up in a livable world. And I’ve heard from so many young people about how important it is that we consistently uphold our values around the world. These issues will be among my top priorities next term.
I will keep working to live up to the trust my constituents have put in me and I promise to always show up, to listen, and to be honest with people, even when we may disagree.
No matter what, I’ll always keep fighting to protect our kids’ futures, our reproductive freedoms, and our democracy. I will keep working to make child care, housing, and prescription drugs more affordable. And I will do everything in my power to rebuild trust for far too many people who feel government has let them down or left them behind.
Thank you again for everything you’ve done for me and for Democrats this year.
More to come.
