ACLU Supporter, polls are starting to close, and I owe you a thank you.

It's too early to tell who the next president will be and anyone saying differently is wrong. But what I can say is that regardless of who wins this election, this team – of lawyers, organizers, volunteers, and advocates like you – is the best, fiercest, and most prepared to defend all our civil rights and liberties.

You're a critical part of this team as much as any of our lawyers or policy directors. Your advocacy throughout the past year – rallying at the Supreme Court to defend mifepristone, putting pressure on the Court to help us block national attacks on emergency abortions, fuelling our challenges against anti-voter bills, showing solidarity with students against book bans and free speech infringements on campus, and so much more – enables all of the work we do.

Those historic moments and hundreds of cases and big headlines are impressive, but none of them are as impressive as the support we've received from advocates and allies like you – it's support we don't take for granted.
