Election Day is wrapping up, but our work is only growing. Read more on what we’re doing as election officials work to confirm the results.
Dear John,
l'll keep this email brief. I have to. Our team has been working around the clock with election officials, and we'll be traveling to swing states where margins are tight and audits—and in some cases recounts—will be conducted. Our work continues at the Election Protection 866-Our-Vote hotline to ensure voters’ voices are heard, and our communications team is working with the media, monitoring disinformation threats, and helping to explain why election results take time.Â
Now that the polls are closing, our to-do list only gets longer. The public needs justified confidence in the election outcome, and our nonpartisan resources and expertise are vital: working with election officials on audits, observing and reporting on what’s happening in swing states across the country, and helping sort facts from the disinformation that endangers the public’s trust.Â
As I said in an interview last week, vast numbers of good people work together across party lines to keep our elections free, fair, and honest. We work year round with election officials and a broad coalition of dedicated partners—all committed to upholding our democracy. With support from stakeholders like you, we’re ready to meet this moment.Â
If you’ve considered making a contribution to help fund our work for voters this election season, or have been considering an additional gift, now is the time.
With gratitude,
Mark Lindeman, Policy & Strategy Director
