Today is the day we’ve been working toward for months – and we couldn’t have done it without you. Your tireless dedication, your voice, and your commitment to our shared vision for America have brought us to this moment. Whether you knocked on doors, made calls, donated, or simply shared the importance of voting with friends and family, you’ve played a crucial role in strengthening our democracy.
As we wait for tonight’s election results, I know many of us are feeling the weight of this moment. Elections are powerful, but they can also be challenging and emotional – especially when so much is on the line. We want to assure you that whatever unfolds tonight and in the days ahead, we’re standing together to make sure every vote counts and every voice is heard. This is more than just an election. It’s a testament to our commitment to justice, equity, and the values we hold dear.
We remain optimistic that tonight will bring a victory for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, ushering in the leadership our country needs to uphold our rights and pursue a brighter, more equitable future. Their dedication to protecting our freedoms and building a stronger, more just nation has inspired millions of Americans to believe in what’s possible – and we’re grateful for the chance to bring that vision to life.
Unfortunately, many expect Donald Trump will attempt to declare victory tonight, no matter the numbers on the board. It’s a tactic we’ve seen before in 2020, meant to create confusion and sow distrust. But we’re prepared. We know that early results don’t always tell the full story given the variations in when early and mail-in votes are counted, contrasts in timing of counting votes from rural areas compared to more densely populated urban centers. And we also know that every last ballot must be counted. Our democracy depends on the process, and we’ll be here every step of the way to ensure it’s followed. And our Right Wing Watch Team, with its decades of experience, will be monitoring events and raising the alarm if actors on the Far Right plan to disrupt the election.
We’re also keeping our eye on our federal courts, and especially the Supreme Court, in the days ahead. As we’ve seen in recent years, the courts can play an outsized role in determining the outcome of elections if disputes arise. We’re prepared to fight to ensure that legal challenges are resolved in a way that honors the rights of voters and upholds our democratic principles.
