Senator Markey's attacks on Joe of "politicizing a crisis" and
"playing politics with the coronavirus to try and further his
career" are disingenuous, disheartening -- and wrong.

Two months ago today, when a state of emergency was declared in
Massachusetts, Joe suspended campaign operations to focus
exclusively on this crisis. Senator Markey did not.

We turned our email fundraising list into a charity drive,
raising nearly $100,000 for those suffering and those fighting on
the frontlines. We leveraged our social media channels and
website to provide important information about COVID-19 and held
daily live streams to keep everyone connected and informed. Our
organizing team has been doing phone banks across the state to
check in on vulnerable residents and help seniors in need.

Joe drove back and forth to D.C. twice to ensure he represented
his district's voice as the House fought to provide coronavirus
relief. And Joe showed up virtually and in-person in Chelsea and
Brockton to help the communities hit the hardest -- long before
the T.V. cameras arrived.

Senator Markey is running on his record. After 47 years in
office, it's fair to critique votes he has taken and choices he
has made that weren't good for Massachusetts, from the Iraq War
to NAFTA. If that's all it takes for the Markey team to put out
false attacks on Joe -- then we are worried they are going to be
even more negative moving forward -- and that is not the kind of
campaign Massachusetts wants.

If you can help us respond with a positive message before
midnight tonight, please chip in $3 or
$25 here to show the Markey campaign that we won't
let these false attacks on Joe go unanswered to Massachusetts
voters.
