Election Day is finally upon us, with many public schools across the U.S. closed and turned into polling sites. We’ve been getting ready ([link removed]) for this day here at The Hechinger Report, with a series on what is missing in civics lessons ([link removed]) , a glimpse at how Project 2025 ([link removed]) could change education, and close-ups of what we might expect for early through higher education, in a Trump ([link removed]) or a Harris administration. ([link removed])

We also look at dismal wages ([link removed]) for America’s child care workers, a ballot question ([link removed]) that could help a community college transform a region, and a guide to some really useful tools we’ve put together on college costs and ways to choose a school ([link removed]) . Stay tuned as we learn more about the next administration — and a reminder that we love to hear from our readers.

Main Idea

** Going to college? Use our toolbox to help choose a school and plan the costs ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
We’ve created a suite of tools that answer questions about the cost of higher education and what campus life might be like at thousands of colleges and universities. Hundreds of teachers, librarians and school counselors use our trusted tools in the classroom to help their students research what they want to do after high school. Now you can, too.
