GO AND VOTE.
Folks, it's finally polling day.
I hadn't planned to write to you all but I woke up with one thing in my head:
In 1805, as Napoleon was executing his plan to invade the British Isles, Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson encountered his fleet at Cape Trafalgar, in the southwest of Spain. As Nelson prepared to engage the French navy, he gave a simple yet poignant instruction to his fleet, hoist to the flags of the HMS Victory and relayed in code: ENGLAND EXPECTS THAT EVERY MAN WILL DO HIS DUTY.
The battle was an infamous win for the British, and is still, to this day, commemorated, celebrated, and venerated. It is with the spirit of the HMS Victory and Lord Nelson in mind that I beseech you, some 220 years on, that today, AMERICA EXPECTS THAT EVERYONE WILL DO THEIR DUTY. And that we deliver as remarkable a victory that can surely and similarly echo through history.
Go vote. Go win.
Kind regards,
