Good morning, friends! Election Day is here, polls are open all across the country, and if you haven’t voted yet, now is the time!
I know everyone is feeling stressed today. I get it – elections are stressful! But I want to talk for a minute about why I feel really hopeful right now, and why I think you should, too.
I’m hopeful because after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, millions of people around the country turned their anger into action and have been pushing to protect and restore reproductive freedom every day since. And every single time abortion rights have been on the ballot since that day, we’ve won.
When I’m campaigning around San Diego, I am constantly filled with hope because there are so many good people dedicated to making our community the best it can be, to solving problems together, and to living up to our values in everything we do.
And as I’ve gotten the chance to campaign on behalf of great House candidates around the country and for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in battleground states, I have been blown away by the hope I see in other people – in volunteers, in my fellow candidates, in students on campuses.
We don’t know what’s going to happen in this election.
But I do know that no matter what, there are millions and millions of people – here in San Diego, across California, across the entire country – who believe in a brighter future, who believe in freedom and protecting our rights and fighting together for what’s right.
And that fight goes on no matter what happens in ANY election.
So thank you for being by my side in this incredibly important work, and for everything you’ve done this election cycle to help support my re-election campaign and Democrats everywhere.
And of course, one last reminder to go vote! You can look up your polling location or find ballot drop box locations at IWillVote.com, and please take a few minutes today to remind the people you know to do the same.
With gratitude,
Sara
