Hi John.

It’s an incredible honor and privilege to serve you in the U.S. House of Representatives.

My mom raised my brothers and me on her own. She served in the U.S. Army for 20 years and then in the Postal Service. I later worked multiple jobs to pay my way through college, and I’m still paying off my student loans.

We didn’t have a lot. But we worked hard. I know many other Kansans are also working hard too, and deserve a fair shot to get ahead just like we did. That’s why I’m serving to bring a new generation of leadership to Washington.

I understand many people are frustrated with higher prices, partisanship, and extremism these days. That’s why I’m focused on concrete and bipartisan solutions to make a difference for Kansans.

I helped pass the law to cap insulin prices at $35 a month for seniors and finally let Medicare negotiate for lower prices. I’m working with Kansas farmers and ranchers to support our region’s economy and lower grocery prices. And I’m supporting a bipartisan bill to double tax cuts for child care.

I’m focused on building an economy that works for everyone. That includes successfully advocating for Panasonic’s new battery plant in De Soto, the largest economic development project in Kansas history. I’ve also helped secure federal support for key community projects like modernizing U.S. 69 in Overland Park, replacing the Kansas Avenue Bridge, and supporting the Johnson County Police Academy and our local police.

And I’ve made it a priority to serve every person and corner of our community. That includes staying in touch through emails like this one, but it also means being available to answer your emails, calls, and letters. It also means helping to return more than $20 million owed to Kansas taxpayers in backlogged veterans’ benefits, Social Security savings, and tax refunds.

I know there’s so much more to do. But I know anything is possible when Kansans work together.

Because as I see it, my job is to serve you – regardless of party. Whether we agree on everything or not is beside the point. Everyone deserves a government that works for them – not just for special interests, big corporations, or the extremes of either party.

If you have any questions or would like to share your views, you’re always more than welcome to contact me.

My warmest regards,
