Team — today is the day.
Throughout the day, millions of people are going to cast their votes. Later tonight, the polls will close. And as the night goes on, we’ll begin to get a better understanding of how they voted.
Here in Arizona, the polls close at 7pm locally, 9pm on the east coast. We’ll lead with this — it’s our best guess that we won’t know who is going to win Arizona’s U.S. Senate race tonight.
We do know is this: It’s going to be close. We’ll be running through the finish line, and we’re spending through all of our resources until the last minute — we’re going to work to reach every last voter we possibly can.
We also know this: Kari Lake has never given us any reason to believe she will respect the results of this election.
She continues to dispute Trump’s defeat in 2020, and her own defeat in 2022. She continues to be engaged in litigation from that defeat. She has spread more lies and disinformation around our elections than any candidate in the country besides Donald Trump himself.
So, we still have to fundraise. We have to fundraise to close the gap to our $1.5 million Election Day goal — to be honest with you, we’ve spent into the red over the last few days after Kari Lake’s last minute surge in the polls, and we still have a ways to go to cover what it took to get us to this point.
But we also have to fundraise for tomorrow, and the days after that. We have to go into overtime in Arizona to ensure the votes are counted and that we are prepared for whatever Kari Lake throws at us.
That’s why we’re writing to you this morning. And it’s why we’re humbly asking:
Please, chip in to Ruben Gallego’s campaign as we bring this home tonight, and as we ready ourselves to uphold the integrity of this election tomorrow.
