Dear John, Election Day is finally here. And as we wait for polls to close tonight and for the final results of the presidential election and other races to be announced, I want to take this opportunity to thank you. In the weeks and months leading up to the election, you dug into our activist and advocate roots through our Love Votes campaign. You registered voters, educating them on what’s at stake in this election. You mobilized your family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors to cast their ballots with love. Many of you are working at polling places today, doing critical work to keep the voting process safe and secure. Every vote matters, and if you have not yet voted, please cast your ballot. From the presidential race, to congressional elections, to state and local races and ballot initiatives, this election is critical to LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. Your vote can make a difference! Remember that you have a right to cast your ballot as long as you are in line by the time polls close; don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. If you’re in line to vote, stay in line! If you have trouble at the polls, please call 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) for help. If you need information about where to vote, your voter registration, and other election related needs visit www.vote411.org/pflag. For all other questions, please email us [email protected] and my team and I will get right back to you. This has been a long year and a long election season. Many of us are scared or anxious today, but know this: We at PFLAG National are so proud of our chapters, members, and supporters whose love has taken action all year long for their LGBTQ+ loved ones. And, no matter what happens, PFLAG National will continue to fight for the rights and lives of our LGBTQ+ loved ones. We’ve got this. We’ve got us. |
