Election Day is here. If you haven’t voted already, make sure you do. And remind your friends and family to vote as well.
You’re probably as nervous as we are. If so, know this. Whatever happens, our fire will keep burning. Our community will keep working for progressive change. We’ll keep fighting for the causes we believe in and funding nonprofits dedicated to a world that’s more equal, more fair, more sustainable—and less hot.
Yes, these are uncertain times. But remember what Martin Luther King Jr. said: “The arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice.” Also remember that the arc doesn’t bend by itself. It’s up to us to make it happen.
We can. We have no doubt about that. We’ve been doing it since 1985, when Ronald Reagan was in the White House. From then till now, we’ve donated over $95 million to nonprofit groups working for climate action, women’s rights, Social Security protection and many other progressive causes. Groups like Friends of the Earth, Reproductive Freedom for All, the Transgender Law Center and the ACLU.
Today’s election will change our country. But we won’t change. We’ll keep doing what we’ve always done: fight and win for the causes we care about. Our community is committed and strong—and our will won’t be denied.
