The “Trump Haters” have organized a “setup.”
That’s Trump’s excuse for blocking Dr. Anthony Fauci from testifying before House Democrats -- even though the president allowed the foremost infectious disease expert to appear before Senate Republicans this week.
Does the lame excuse sound familiar? It’s the kind of talk Trump used during his impeachment -- also brought to you by House Democrats -- and the same way he always talks when he’s scared. It makes sense for him to be: the last time Fauci went before the House in March, Democrats got him to tell the truth about the response: “It is a failing. Let’s admit it,” in Fauci’s own words.
House Democrats have fought Trump tooth-and-nail ever since retaking the majority in 2018, and even now are rallying behind a new rescue package for Americans -- despite the GOP’s best attempts to stop them. But Republicans need only 19 seats to take back the House in November -- and are targeting 30 vulnerable districts that are currently held by Democrats but that voted for Donald Trump in 2016.
