Orange County Republicans -
Last night was a major turning point for the future of the Republican Party in our state.
In Los Angeles and Ventura County, Republican Mike Garcia defeated Democrat Christy Smith in the special election to replace the disgraced Katie Hill in Congressional District 25. Smith received millions of dollars from Democrat donors and had endorsements from Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi. However, this proved no match for the power of grassroots volunteers, who made over 1 million phone calls to voters in the district. We are proud to have played a role in this victory by training and deploying our own Orange County volunteers to support this effort.
For the first time since 1998, Republicans flipped a Democrat held Congressional seat in California. This November, the Republican Party of Orange County and our army of volunteers intend to win back 4 more.
Also last night, Republicans successfully won a key State Senate seat in neighboring San Bernardino County. Republican Melissa Melendez defeated her Democrat opponent by 12 points. In 2016, Republicans outvoted Democrats by a margin of only 2 points. Again, Democrats flooded the race with outside money, but the hard work of our volunteers proved to be the difference.
Likewise, the Democrats have targeted two Republican held State Senate seats in Orange County this November, but with our grassroots volunteers and donors, we will win.
Yesterday was the first step toward the California Republican comeback but make no mistake, in November the eyes of the political world will turn toward Orange County. We have the best candidates, we have the best volunteers, we have the plan for victory, but we need your help. Please consider contributing $25, $50 or any amount today to support the Republican Party of Orange County.
