I normally publish my weekly tip sheet on Tuesdays. But this is anything but a normal week. Tomorrow, millions of Americans will cast their vote for the future of the country, their state and their community. The visions of the two parties could not be more starkly different.
Shaping those differences — indeed, in many ways defining them — is one man, Donald Trump. He hangs like the sword of Damocles over so many of our most important institutions and beliefs. Government on the merits, free and fair elections, NATO and an independent judiciary are all in danger from his reelection.
It has been four years and two days since Donald Trump was last on the ballot and much has changed. The pandemic has receded, the economy has improved. The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and granted presidents near total immunity from criminal prosecution.
