Friend,
For months now, our campaign rallying cry
has been: As Gaza goes, we all
go.
This is not
just a plea to remember Gaza, stop this horrific genocide, and free
Palestine.
It’s a reminder that all that we are
fighting for is connected, that we are fighting empire both abroad and
at home.
Working
people are struggling to keep up with the cost of rent and put food on
the table. They’re delaying critical, lifesaving healthcare and
rationing their prescriptions to keep the lights
on.
Everyday Americans
are watching their homes get swallowed up by floods and hurricanes and
wildfires brought on by the climate emergency.
There is so much that our government can do
– the tenacity and ingenuity and love of our people can do – to solve
these problems.
But
instead of helping us, the two corporate parties remain chained to
Wall Street and the war machine – shoveling TRILLIONS of dollars into
endless war and genocide abroad.
And when we rise up and organize, demanding
justice and an end to forever wars, they attempt to crush our
movements with sweeping police brutality – sending in cops armed with
weapons of war and trained by Israeli Occupation
Forces.
When we begin to
organize for electoral power, they weaponize administrative systems
and the courts to kick us off the ballot and deny YOU a real
choice.
All of this
money and effort and time and energy that is poured into limiting our
options and controlling our bodies and keeping us compliant COULD be
poured into building a society where everyone’s basic needs are met –
one designed around human thriving and a livable
future.
We have the capacity to solve great
problems. We do not have to settle. Never let anyone tell you that
your choice is irrelevant.
In the last few weeks, our movement has been smeared and
slandered. People have questioned my motives – and
yours.
They keep asking
me why I am running, as if the answer is not
obvious.
The system is
not broken, it’s working exactly as designed. And it’s time we build a
new one.
We’re running
for the world we want to build. We’re running for the future we
deserve. We’re running for the sustainability of life as we know
it.
That’s the choice
before us tomorrow, America. And no matter which way the votes come
down when the polls close, it is the world we will keep fighting
for.
Thank
you for your support throughout this journey. We still have much work
to do, and I would be grateful for any contribution today to carry us
forward.
In
solidarity and gratitude,
Jill |
