I wish I had better news to share with you, folks. My team just let me know that we came up short of our pre-election fundraising goal.

This was always going to be an uphill battle. We had to raise our goals multiple times throughout October to keep up with the tens of millions of dollars Republicans continue to spend on brutal attack ads against me.

Now, I won’t tell you that the sky is falling because we missed this goal. But I will tell you the truth, which is that we started November with a significant gap in our budget.

That’s a problem because if we need to cut back on our campaign ads or get-out-the-vote efforts this late in the race, Republicans could easily flip this battleground seat.

Staying competitive in this toss-up race isn’t as easy for me as tapping into a multimillion-dollar personal fortune like my opponent can. Instead, I rely on folks like you who pitch in what you can, when you can, to help power our campaign.
