Hey friend,
Election Day is tomorrow. So much is on the line. We are deeply proud of how URGEβs staff, members, and volunteers have shown up in such a complicated, and consequential, election year. We have made over 9 million contact attempts to a universe of over one million individual voters.
We knocked on the door of every young voter of color in Cincinnati, OH and Montgomery, AL, at least three times. Our state-specific digital ads that feature abortion ban petitions are between 25-75 times more effective than typical political ads.
Whatever comes, we honor the work that we have done, the relationships weβve built, and the brilliance and resilience of young people, including young BIPOC and queer and trans folks living in some of the most hostile states in the U.S. Here's a quick recap to celebrate what we've accomplished together and to extend our deepest gratitude!
What we accomplished in October [[link removed]]
URGE has been building young people power
π₯ Reproductive Justice Leadership Institute: 136 URGE chapter members across Alabama, Georgia, Kansas, Ohio and California attended RJLI virtually. Additionally, URGE Chapter Members lead a panel on Reproductive Justice and Elections, showcasing the power and passion of our young leaders.
π₯ Texas Health Kit Making Party: We came together to assemble 300 sex health kits, providing vital resources to our communities.
π₯ Advocating for Young People's Priorities: As we enter the final stretch of our We Deserve campaign [[link removed]] we've been amplifying young voices and their priority issues.
π₯ Ambassador & HBCU Influencers Program: Partnering with dozens of HBCU students across Alabama and Georgia, we created impactful social media content to encourage voting and support for Reproductive Justice.
Check out our Texas team's contribution to the Civic Mystics campaign here [[link removed]] .
π₯ Ohio Advocacy Day: On Oct 2nd, our policy team gathered young advocates and partners like ACLU and New Voices for RJ at the Ohio Statehouse to push for reproductive rights and gender equity.
π₯ Policy Advocacy: URGE signed on to the Family Planning Coalition FY26 Office of Management Budget letter to advocate for increased funding in sexual and reproductive health programs.

URGE has been shifting culture
π₯ This year's SMA Fest 2024 gave young people a powerful platform to share their stories about access to abortion medications. We partnered with 16 talented digital activists to create impactful content. Check it out here [[link removed]] .
π₯ In partnership with Latina Institute, NAPAWF, and In Our Own Voice, we wrapped up our Joy & Justice Tour in Atlanta. Over 50 community members came together to celebrate Latine, Asian American and Pacific Islander, Black, Youth and Queer voices who are shaping a future grounded in equity and justice.
π₯ Our Radical Art Making Progress (RAMP) program ended on a high note with a one-night art exhibition in Ohio, spotlighting incredible BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists from our inaugural cohort.
These moments remind us how essential collective action and creativity are in pushing for justice. Thank you for being part of this movement!
