BIG: ANOTHER new poll shows Dan Osborn within 2 points
of Republican Deb Fischer in Nebraska’s critical Senate race.
[ [link removed] ]Dan OSborn.
Mechanic and steamfitter turned candidate for U.S. Senate, Dan Osborn.
Dan Osborn, the Independent populist (and steamfitter) running a tied race
for Senate in Nebraska recently emailed supporters with a little
background:
"People like me aren’t supposed to run for office.
"I’m not rich. I don’t even really know anybody who is.
"I didn’t go to an Ivy League school. I didn’t even finish college. After
my wife got pregnant, I had to drop out to find a job to pay for diapers
and health insurance.
"And I’m not a politician. I’m a steamfitter and mechanic who’s been
working 60-hour – sometimes even 90-hour – weeks to give my family the
dream of a better life.
"People like me aren’t supposed to run for office – and we certainly
aren’t supposed to win."
The thing is, Dan could win. The race is within the margin of error after
Mitch McConnell has spent more than $13 million trying to stop him. A Dan
Osborn win would change history and the balance of power in the Senate.

balance of power in the Senate.
As president of his local union, Dan led an 11-week strike against
Kellogg’s for better pay and better benefits. He took on a corporate giant
and he won – protecting 500 good-paying jobs. Dan says:
"Now, I’m taking on the next fight: I’m running for U.S. Senate against
Republican Deb Fischer – and every poll shows us NECK-AND-NECK. Experts at
FiveThirtyEight even say this is officially the CLOSEST Senate race in the
country!
If Dan Osborn defeats Republican Deb Fischer and wins this seat, he will
be the 51st vote in the Senate to stop a complete national abortion ban,
get money out of politics, and take on the billionaires. There's something
else Dan says that's important:
"We can defeat Republican Senator Deb Fischer, but while she takes
millions from corporate PACs and special interests, I’m relying entirely
on the generosity of people like you to fund my campaign."
