EXPEDITING AID FOR FL AG PRODUCERS

Image

Back-to-back hurricanes dealt a devastating blow to Florida's ag producers, many of whom are still recovering from the disastrous 2022 season. After four major storms in two years, our farmers and ranchers desperately need help now. To get needed aid into the hands of Florida growers and ranchers, I led a letter with Senators Marco Rubio, Rick Scott and the entire FL delegation urging USDA Secretary Vilsack take immediate action to provide critical assistance, programs and policy flexibilities for FL ag producers affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Click here to learn more.

LEGISLATIVE LANDING: RECAPPING IMPORTANT INITIATIVES FROM THE 118th CONGRESS

Last week, we covered the Cardiac Arrest Survival Act, an effort I introduced to encourage greater use of automated external defibrillators. This week, learn more about what I'm doing to protect Florida's Heartland from overreaching agricultural regulations.

BLOCKING AG LABOR UNION REGULATIONS

Image

The U.S. Department of Labor recently finalized a 600-page rule that will allow non-citizen temporary farmworkers to unionize. The new regulation creates a loophole allowing activists to trespass on private property to organize, even without the owner’s permission. This is a direct affront to agricultural producers’ private property rights. That’s why I introduced H. J. Res. 135 to protect Florida’s Heartland and ensure the Biden-Harris Administration can never enforce such a burdensome regulation. This measure was introduced in May 2024 and awaits committee action. Click here to learn more.
