John,
Time and again we’ve called out Steve King for his incredibly offensive statements and views. And some of his Republican colleagues have too -- basically, we’re all in agreement that his hateful rhetoric is not acceptable in Congress or anywhere else.
That’s why we were all surprised when he told folks at a forum that he cut a deal with Republican party leadership to get back on his committees next year, and that he'll be vindicated for his “wrongful removal.”
“Steve King says House leader will allow for 'exoneration,' return of committee assignments”
-- The Sioux City Journal
We’re not sure who he heard this from, because Republican representative Steve Stivers tweeted today that so long as he’s on the Republican Steering Committee, he will not let Steve King back on any committee.
Even Steve King’s own Republican colleagues see through his racist, homophobic, misogynistic statements. We desperately need a new leader for our district. That leader has to be J.D. -- who embodies the Iowa values of love and respect for others (values Steve King clearly does not hold). Pitch in $5 or whatever you can to our campaign now to help him defeat this hateful rhetoric.

We’re sure you’re familiar with some of the things Steve King has said: Claiming that most immigrants are drug traffickers; wondering why “white nationalist” and “white supremacist” became offensive; and defending the history of rape and incest.
For far too long, Steve King has been a stain on Iowa’s reputation and an embarrassment in Congress. There’s a reason why he was removed from his committee assignments and has yet to be reinstated. Republican, Democrat, or independent, everyone agrees that he’s unfit to make decisions affecting millions of Americans.
That’s why we need to elect J.D. Scholten: He will stand tall for all, and he’ll be a representative who values respect, not hatred and divisiveness. Chip in to our campaign today to help him win >> [link removed]
Thanks for standing up for what’s right.

The number one priority during this time is to make sure everyone helps mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Iowa and across the country. Our campaign is doing our part by canceling all in-person events, moving to a digital operation, and supporting local efforts to help those in need. Emails like this are a critical part of our ability to run a strong campaign that can win.
