James, I know we are all nervous about the election.
But I want to give you some advice and a heads up on what is to come:
Take action. In an election this close, every vote counts. Whether it’s taking friends or neighbors to vote or making GOTV phone calls – we’ve got to give this election our all.
- We may not know the results on election night. It may take a while to ensure all votes are counted. The closer the races, the longer it will take to know the results.
- Republicans will try to spread conspiracy theories about the election results. We saw it in 2020, and we will see it again. If Republicans are losing they will start an onslaught of misinformation.
- We must be ready to respond to Republican election denial. Listen to reliable sources and share accurate information with your community.
- Many abortion ballot initiatives, particularly in Florida, may be very close. While other statewide races might be called on election night, it’s possible we have to wait for results on the abortion ballot initiatives.
- Whatever happens, the fight will continue. No matter the results, we need to be prepared to continue to fight MAGA extremism and advocate for the basic rights and freedoms we believe in. We can take time to rest and recuperate, but the fight for justice will continue. That’s why I founded Think Big America – to hold MAGA extremism accountable at every turn. I hope you will be with me after Election Day.
Take some deep breaths, sign up for one last GOTV shift, and vote.
Together,
JB Pritzker
