The National Center for Law and Economic Justice (NCLEJ) is litigating to expand access to critical public benefits programs like SNAP (also known as Food Stamps), Medicaid, Cash Assistance, and more.

These social safety net programs help low-income families stave off hunger and severe poverty. But agency dysfunction, lack of language translation services and disability accommodations, confusing application instructions, and overloaded call centers create unlawful barriers to access for these life-saving programs.

That’s why the lawyers of NCLEJ litigate to ensure that low-income people can access the public benefits programs they need and are entitled to by law. We are one of the ONLY organizations in the entire country that has a dedicated program area to expanding access to SNAP benefits that help hungry families put food on the table. We’re fighting to ensure that basic needs are met to ensure that communities cannot only survive, but thrive.
