Tune into our YouTube show every Thursday as we continue calling out billionaire greed and spreading the truth during this pandemic.

Dear John,

Here in the Bay Area, California, we’ve been in lockdown since March 16th — almost two full months. These past two months have been isolating, uncertain, and frustrating — as our “leader” has made a bad situation worse. Our broken system has been put on stark display by this crisis, and it seems like every day there is another development that brings us father away from getting ahead of this deadly pandemic.

We’re here to help make sense of it all, and provide a path forward — so you can see through the deluge of misinformation and hear the truth about what we need to do to survive this.

The torrent of headlines, the failures of the Trump administration, the labor dynamics that leave essential workers unprotected and underpaid, the Great Depression-era unemployment numbers — it’s all a lot to digest.

That’s why every week, I’ve been sitting down with our perennial millennial Katie Milne for our YouTube talk show, The Common Good. We go beyond the headlines and give you the context and analysis you need to understand the systemic inequities that are making a bad situation worse‚ and leaving so many Americans either unemployed or risking their lives to feed their families.

Over the weeks, we’ve discussed how this crisis has brought on even more socialism for the rich, harsh capitalism for the rest. We’ve explored the hypocrisy of Republicans who claim to be “pro-life” but are suddenly willing to sacrifice your grandma for the stock market. We’ve debunked the myth that coronavirus is the “great equalizer,” examining how systemic racism has left people of color most vulnerable to this crisis. And most importantly, we’ve told you what you can do, from quarantine, to stay politically active and engaged.

The Common Good is livestreamed every Thursday at 11:30am PST/2:30pm EST.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, or lost, I hope you’ll join us tomorrow — when I'll be discussing how Tesla CEO Elon Musk called me a "boring idiot" for calling out his selfish move to reopen Tesla's Fremont plant — and in the weeks to come as we continue calling out billionaire greed and spreading the truth during this pandemic.

Thank you for your support.

With your help, we’re doing more than we ever have, and our work has never been more critical.

“See” you tomorrow,
Robert Reich
